To
ease your disappointment, remember that when you are filming all those canons
going off that you will not catch the thunderous booms that accompany the smoke
and fire.
The cam-corder's mike is like any other, and the sound will end up being
recorded will be more like a pop.
To get a more realistic feeling, don't zoom in when a soldier goes down.
Since there are no Hollywood F/X blood packets going off, or the rest of
what we take for grant it at the movies.
You may want to pan the field though, especially during a charge.
It gives an idea of distance, and the amount of participants in the
battle.
