Video Recorder

To ease your disappointment, remember that when you are filming all those canons going off that you will not catch the thunderous booms that accompany the smoke and fire.
The cam-corder's mike is like any other, and the sound will end up being recorded will be more like a pop.
To get a more realistic feeling, don't zoom in when a soldier goes down.  Since there are no Hollywood F/X blood packets going off, or the rest of what we take for grant it at the movies.
You may want to pan the field though, especially during a charge.  It gives an idea of distance, and the amount of participants in the battle.
Until next time, good reenacting!
