PINBALL
"Pinball"
- What do you mean they had pinball during the Civil War?!?!
Yep, that's right.
Pinball has a short history, starting in the 1800's as a game called
"bagatelle"
The first pinball game consisted of an oblong board with nine numbered scoring
cups, balls, and a cue stick..
Although "Bagatelle" was very much like billiards (Pool halls still
enjoy both versions of "pinball"), it was considered far more
respectable. President Abraham Lincoln even played it!
It wouldn't be until 1931 that "Baffle Ball" came into existence.
In 1933 the Bally Company came out with a pinball game called
"Rocket".
