A K.I.T.T. / K.A.R.R. Custom vehicle - Time Line
Originally I was building this for my son for a graduation gift from High School, but he opted for a larger vehicle to do his calling in life in helping people.
These are some images of the vehicle and the work I have done on it.

The vehicle is a 1987 F Body which has been restocked with parts form 1982-1988 vehicles. It really is not just a Trans-Am any more - more like a Trans-Fire-Camero.
MARRs1 - Things to consider before beginning your Knight Rider project

This is the original vehicle with the nose already attached in 2004.
2/16/05-MARRS has been taken in for the exterior final fitting and paint job.
I am most likely going  to make the dashboard in a way I can exchange it between daily driving and show driving. It takes up too much room for a passenger. With modern electronics I am actually going to revise the inside so the display is more HUD and that the screens are more concealed.

MARRs2 - Tips and tricks I have found out during my build.

4/5/05-Here MARRs is with a Maaco paint job.

4/12/05- Okay now that the headliner has been replaced I am starting to do the tint on the window. Next part that will be difficult will be to find some R12 so I can recharge the AC system. You can see the permanent screen mounted in the passenger dash.
The "show" dash is a plug in. I remove the regular dash pad and can slide the dashboard in place. This has flush mounted electronics that are all dummied through the computer. The pod and steering wheel can be mounted in about 45 min for show use.

Gripe:
Let me stress this - Maaco is where you go when you want to fix a wreck to sell it, or just get by so it doesn't rust - in other words cheap. I know paint is not cheap, but when it takes a month to get it back from them it is rather irritating.
